Dillon Carmichael and Ashley McBryde teamed up for a special cover of Chris Stapleton's "Tennessee Whiskey," which fans can watch above.

The performance took place on Apr. 11 in San Jose, Calif., at a radio event, Rolling Stone Country confirms. The song was a good fit for the pair, as both artists channel a Stapleton-esque vibe in the classic-meets-current country sub-genre.

Once the song began, the crowd erupted with excitement. The duo had their individual vocal moments during the song, but the true shining moment was when the crowd made the soulful track into a huge group singalong.

Dillon Carmichael's Keith Whitley Is Unbelievable:

"Tennessee Whiskey" is not Stapleton's original work; it was first recorded by David Allan Coe for his 1981 album, Tennessee Whiskey. His version reached No. 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. George Jones covered the song in 1983, reaching No. 2 on that same chart.

Stapleton's version took on a life of its own when he performed the song with Justin Timberlake in a show-stopping moment at the 2015 CMA Awards. His version of the song is more blues and soul-infused than Coe's original recording. Stapleton's cover was featured on his award-winning debut solo album, Traveller, in 2015.

McBryde will be hitting the summer music festival circuit before hopping on Miranda Lamberts Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour this fall. Along with McBryde, Maren Morris, Pistol Annies, Elle King, Tenille Townes, and Caylee Hammack will join the trek.

Carmichael is also hitting up the summer music festival circuit, including a hometown performance at the inaugural Hometown Rising Festival in Louisville, Ky. He released Hell on an Angel, his debut album, last year.
