A local doggo is getting some national attention. Flash, who worked with the Yakima Police Department, is a K-9 who has worked really hard throughout her 14 years of life and it hasn't gone unnoticed. According to KIMA, he's been involved in 3,000 deployments with 2,200 narcotic finds and seizures with the DEA task force teams, regional swat team and patrol division; and now she could add 'Hero Dog' to her resume. Flash is in the top three pups up for the 'Hero Dog Award' from the American Humane Hero Dog Awards.

Flash was even the inspiration behind Project K-9 Hero Foundation, started by his human, Jason Johnson. the non-profit organization helps care for retired military and police dogs in the U.S. If Flash wins the national competition, she'll win $2,500 for Project K-9 Hero.
