The Quilters Cafe Announces Intent to Move to a New Location
For some of us, it's still too soon to bring up the name JoAnn's, especially since they permanently closed all locations. Fortunately, Yakima has a couple of great fabric shops to fit our sewing, fabric, and quilting needs, like The Quilters Cafe and the newly opened Nan's Quilt Shop (61 W Nob Hill Blvd). Hobby Lobby (and now Michael's) also carries fabric, too.
Don't Just Stand There, Bust a Move
The Quilters Cafe has been a Yakima staple for sewcerers, as I like to call people who know how to sew. Shoppers love going there to purchase a locally owned small business, plus they take advantage of the craft and quilt classes there as well.
The fabric shop just announced that they're moving to a new location. It's currently housed in the Westpark shopping plaza on 40th & Summitview, in that little nook before you get to Simply Crafted floral and coffee shop.

"We will be relocating to a different space here at Westpark Shopping Center very soon, from Suite #21 to Suite #4 - between Ballesteri's and K-Nails. Not a huge change, literally about 600 feet due east of our current location," said Linda Sutton, the co-owner of Quilters Cafe in an email and Facebook announcement.
Sutton says their new space will be smaller, but they will still offer classes and all the things sewists need and expect from their store.
"We wanted you to hear this from us first, before hearing it second or third hand," says Linda and Mike.
They haven't announced when the move will take place but say it's happening soon. Until then, you can shop at The Quilters Cafe Tuesdays thru Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 4001 Summitview Ave Suite 21 in Yakima.
