I drive by Gyro House, 3609 W Nob Hill Blvd, Yakima, WA 98902, a few times a week, and every time I fight the urge to pull into the parking lot. This week, I went for it. It's been years since I've been inside and found out from Naz, the owner, five years ago he became the proud owner. Slow hand clap because this dude knows how to create a satisfying meal.

So Many Options

I love seeing different menu options and so I went outside the traditional falafel meal and decided to try a falafel gyro, loaded greek fries, and baklava. HOLY CRAP! First off, there are so many fresh veggies on the gyro you can't see the falafel at first, it would make you feel like maybe you're getting cheated out of the goods but wait until you take a bite. The crunch of the falafel mixed with fresh veggies, greek flavors, and deliciously soft pita bread had me doing a double-take. Fantastic and filling! Does it reheat well in the air fryer? YES!

A Pleasant Surprise

Next up the loaded greek fries, shocked me! I ordered my food to go so when I opened the package it looked like a chicken salad but at closer inspection what first appeared as pieces of chicken was actually cut-up pieces of pita bread! What? Bits of tender beef and lamb are mix in with loads of veggies, feta, and perfectly cooked french fries. It was so good I wanted to shovel it into my mouth and was SO happy to discover I could turn this item into three meals. Does it reheat well in the air fryer? YES, and it's DELICIOUS!

Dessert Game is Strong

Wrap it up with the sweet and delicate flake of baklava and you've got a meal good enough to share with anyone special. Get him to the Greek takes on a whole new meaning and I encourage you to order a big side of hummus to enjoy as well. Fresh and full of flavor The Gyro House is a hidden gem in our Valley and everyone needs to know about it. Also thank you Naz, I finally feel confident pronouncing gyro out loud without a question mark at the end! Let's eat!
