Idaho Doesn’t Have a Clue When It Comes to Most Abbreviations
I remember when abbreviations in text were just starting to become more and more a common thing. Even before texting when we had social messaging like AOL and ICQ if something was funny we could do a quick LOL or, if it was really funny, LMAO. We also had ROFL if you were rolling on the floor laughing.
And abbreviations isn't a new thing. In old letters, usually typed, we could write PS. at the bottom for that one last thought you forgot to include and didn't want to type up a whole new document.
Of course, in todays' digital age, PS is basically done due to we can just slide it in or send a follow-up email.
But with today's age of texting and all that, just like the lingo, more and more newer abbreviations are coming up which often have the older generation scratching our heads trying to solve the puzzle of 'what does it mean'.
The good folks at unscrambler found what abbreviations the folks in Idaho were searching more than others.
Did you know any of these without having to look them up? I'm sure your kids do.
Here are the top abbreviations that people in Idaho searched the most.
10. NFS - New Friends
9. FFS - For F* Sake
8. ICL - I Can't Lie
7. WTW - What's the Word
6. OTP - One True Pairing
5. WYF - Where You From?
4. GNG - Gang
3. IMO - In My Opinion
2. IMAO - In My Arrogant Opinion
1. PMO - Put Me On
Admittedly, I knew most of them but even I didn't know a couple including IMAO as I've never seen that in anything. Or maybe it's because my kids are older and already past using the newer terms.
This top 10 was just for Idaho. Overall in the entire United States the #1 searched abbreviation is FAFO. I'd hope you know this one by now but, if not, it's F* Around and Find Out. I bet most mom's got this correct.
