This product recall comes from right here in the Pacific Northwest and effects all of Washington State as well as other states.
And it's something you may have purchased recently over the holiday weekend.
USDA Recall for Ground Beef
The USDA has issued a recall for ground beef from Mountain West Food Group based in Heyburn, Idaho.

USDA was conducting tests of products, as they do, and found ground beef from Mountain West Food Group was contaminated with E. coli.
This recall is for 2,855 pounds of the Forward Farms Grass-Fed Ground Beef that you would find in vacuum-sealed 1 pound squares at most grocery stores in the ground beef section.
Washington State is effected by this product recall as is Idaho, California, Colorado, Montana, and Pennsylvania.

The item in question would be the one-pound block (16oz) of Forward Farms Grass-Fed Ground Beef with these indications.
so far, fortunately, no illnesses have been reported.
If you have this in your fridge or freezer, toss it or return it.
