
Yakima Valley Gets Ready to Celebrate Freedom with Family Fun and Fireworks!
It's time to celebrate freedom in the Yakima Valley this 4th of July holiday.
If you're staying in Yakima for the holiday you have two different community celebrations to enjoy in the upper valley.
THE BIGGEST PARTY
The largest will be held at Yakima's State Fair Park billed as a "fabulous familty-oriented Fourth of July." Park officials say you are encouraged to bring your own food or purchase food from one of the many vendors that will be at the event. No charcoal or propane BBQs are allowed. The celebration includes a carnival with fun rides and the 20-minute long fireworks display along with patriotic music starting at 10:00 pm.
IT'S ALL FREE INCLUDING PARKING
The gates open at 12:00 pm. Admission and parking is free just enter through Gate #15 from Pacific Avenue. Not only will you find food and fun at the park but you'll also be able to enjoy free entertainment with the bands American Honey, Banda La Palmera, XYZ & the Boomers and Genevieve.
FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
KIDS ZONE open 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Don't miss out on the Kids Zone including FREE face painting and kids activities such as a giant coloring wall, badminton, Tic Tac Toe, and lots more.
BEER FOR YOU
Open 4:00 pm-10:30 pm. Grab your favorite beverage and enjoy live music, corn hole, ring toss game and giant Jenga games. The carnival is set to open at 3:00 pm on Thursday and all day Friday.
The other big celebration will be held at Selah's Carlon Park with gates opening at 6:00 pm. Food, games, music and other activities are planned. A big fireworks show starts at 10:00 pm.
