THE EVENT RIGHT NEXT TO AN ACTIVE RUNWAY

HELPING FUTURE PILOTS
Christopher Hopkins the Executive Director of the Yakima Air Terminal says they're partnering with the McAllister Museum of Aviation for a fundraising event to raise money for scholarships for young people who want to become pilots. He says they'll also recognize and honor the D-Day Anniversary at the event because it happens on June 6.
PLANNING FOR AN AIR SHOW IN THE NEAR FUTURE
Hopkins says while they won't have an air show this year airport staff say they're working towards an air show in the future. He says he believes it could happen within the next couple of years. However he says right now the focus is on getting more people to fly out of the Yakima Air Terminal and support flights so more flights to different destinations can become a reality.
