(PHOTOS) 5 Experiences During National Night Out in Union Gap!
The Yakima Valley celebrated National Night Out this past Tuesday night (August 1st) in an effort to help bring residents together! It was initially founded in 1984, and the City of Union Gap celebrated the 40th anniversary of the city’s participation! It was great to get out for some fun at Loudon Park (3607 4th Street in Union Gap) to meet law enforcement, have some barbeque, and enjoy the community.

FUN!
Face painting, bounce houses, a giant inflatable water slide, and good tunes filled the air while we were able to sit back and relax and enjoy some good food!
FOOD!
The Union Gap Police Department cooked up hotdogs for the community to enjoy, along with chips and a drink: plenty to go around and many smiling faces (stuffed with food).
Friends & Neighbors
Whether you’re meeting a neighbor for the first time or meeting up with a good friend next door, the community was out in full force to celebrate!
Meeting Law Enforcement
Union Gap’s finest were out and about, not only cooking grub but also conversing with the community. Especially Chief Cobb, who could often be seen rubbing elbows at the picnic benches, sharing stories and laughs. Even Amanda with Animal Control was out. They told her there was a pack of DOGS at the park... wrong kind of dogs!
Community Awareness
That’s the whole point of National Night Out, to help bring communities together. To help make them stronger, safer, and all and all, a better place to live!
