Yakima Mystery: Who Lost a Bumper on Nob Hill Blvd?
How could someone heartlessly cast aside a perfectly good bumper at this intersection in Yakima? It brings up more questions than answers, and we’ll discuss below.
Lost Bumper Searching For Its Forever Car!
First thing's first, Yes, I know that this is more than a bumper, and yes, this story is written tongue-in-cheek, much like a previous story I’ve written about a found tire. But seeing this type of thing next to a sidewalk just makes me scratch my head and wonder.
Saturday morning, as I was stopped on the intersection of 24th Avenue and Nob Hill Blvd, as I was looking left and right, making sure it was clear for me to make my right turn before the light changed, I saw the sad sight of a beautiful bumper… missing its car!
Now, normally I’d do the smart aleck thing and say something like “Sir, you can’t park there,” but there was no sir to be seen, just a nice white bumper by a light pole and fire hydrant.
Littering, Lost, Ran Away?
Well, obviously, the bumper didn’t run away, because it has no legs… or wheels to flee from its original place of being. So, now we ask the question, is the bumper lost or discarded?
If it was lost, that is kind of amusing to me. To think someone was driving along on Nob Hill Blvd, then someone hears a sound, and then their car jerks upward as they drive over something. Thinking that it’s weird, the person probably drove along their way until they got home, and discovered what was missing.

Littering is most likely the case, a bad accident, things get hauled away, the bumper was left for another day. I am kind of surprised that the owner would leave it there, with the license plate and everything. It wouldn’t take long for authorities to find the owner and issue a littering ticket.
Bumping My Brain: Final Thoughts
No matter what the situation was of why the bumper ended up there, I hope everyone involved is okay, and once again, yes, this article was written tongue-in-cheek, much like my “Lost Tire Looking For Its Forever Car” article. I hope you had a laugh or at least a smile.

UPDATE: Someone moved it... further away from the street. End of update.
