This Empty Building in Southwest Yakima Was Basically Made for a Trader Joe’s
Look, there are no more excuses why we can't have a Trader Joe’s here. I know that we Yakimaniacs have been begging for one over the past two decades, but now is the perfect time for them to strike.
This Empty Building Near Me Would Be a Perfect Trader Joe's, and I Will Not Be Taking Questions
There are twenty Trader Joe’s locations here in Washington, and these Lease Negotiators at the corporate office can’t keep using the excuse that the city of Yakima is “too small” to bring a store here. This empty building in Southwest Yakima is the perfect location, and I’ll give you three reasons why right off the bat.
#1
The perfect Trader Joe’s location in Yakima is the old Rite Aid building at 901 Summitview. It’s near my house, so that’s the most convenient for me, lol.
#2
The parking lot there is perfect because it’s just the right size that would probably get packed way too quickly, which is apparently a common funny gripe among TJ customers, period.
#3
The building’s size is big enough to fit in all the flowers, produce, alcoholic, and deli areas, yet small enough to match the Yakima town vibez (vibes with a Z).
I Spy With My Little Eye at Trader Joe's...
I spy with my little eye! I happen to know that the Federal Way location is huge fans of this Yakima cidery. You may have heard of them; they’re kind of a big deal! (Tieton Cider Works)
Do you go to to this store for the snacks, the wine, or both? I used to go just for the frozen mac and cheese and the Two Buck Chuck. Then I joined a Facebook group dedicated to likeminded ladies who love shopping there, and now I end up buying all kinds of stuff I don’t even want or need–it’s the spirit of FOMO that keeps me going and gives me thrills.
The old Rite Aid building’s just sitting there, all empty and lonely and if Trader Joe’s is worried that our Yakima County incomes are “too low”, I know for a fact that they do take EBT, so what’s the dang problem?
Trust me, if you bring it, we will come! Until then, I’ll keep shopping at Grocery Outlet!
