Happening: Yakima Now Has 3 Skating Rinks for the Winter
Did you know that the Winter Wonderland ice skating rink moved inside this holiday season? This marks another fun year that the Valley Mall brings the magic of ice skating to Union Gap.
Yakima Gains Another Ice Skating Rink (At Least for the Winter)
Yakima has two skating rinks: Skateland for roller skating and Yakima Ice Rink for indoor ice skating. Valley Mall has entered the chat, with their "glice" skating rink in Union Gap. Find it inside the mall; it's in the space where Forever 21 (and Spirit Halloween) used to be.
What is "glice? It's a safer, new-tech version of skating on actual ice.
"Glice is an innovative and sustainable alternative to traditional ice, providing an authentic skating experience without the need for water or energy-consuming refrigeration systems." - Valley Mall
If you don't know how to ice skate, you're in luck because the rink has "walkers" (skate aids) that kids (and adults) can rent as they learn how to get comfortable skating on blades.
