Have you been to Jollibee?

Have you even heard of Jollibee? Well, if not, I'll fill you in briefly.

Jollibee Restaurants might be best known for their chicken, but also offers burgers, fries and even spaghetti -- all with a Filipino twist.

You can imagine if someone like Popeye's Louisiana Kitchen also sold spaghetti, it'd be a little like that.

And, believe it or not, the spaghetti isn't that bad. My kid seemed to like it.

There are only a few locations in the United States. My first experience was in Southern California when we went and there was a pretty long line to get your food. I figured it was just because it was a unique idea for a restaurant. And, with so few locations, it's the only one people can attend.

You can imagine how long the lines would be if Yakima only had one McDonald's when the McRib returns.

We were in Tukwila (south of Seattle) at Southcenter Mall when I saw they had a Jollibee there. I figured I'd go to check it out and, sure enough, there's that line again.

Though the line is pretty long, it does go by pretty fast so that's good. The menu is all over the place, too.

The chicken, however, in my opinion, is worth the wait. I love chicken and there's something special about this chicken. Not that it tastes any better than a Popeye's or KFC or anything, but the idea that the fried chicken comes with brown gravy for dipping is a neat idea. The better isn't as thick as other fried chicken places, too. Not that it's a tempura batter or anything, it's just light but the crunch is all there. The fries are, well, just that. Basic french fries that I can take or leave. But do taste better when you dip them or drown them in that brown gravy. Mutli-purpose! I love it.

If you find yourself at Southcenter Mall or any of the other Jollibee locations in the US (it seems many are attached to malls) and see that long line, know that the line goes by pretty quickly and, for the unique experience, I'd do it all over again.
