Kacey Musgraves may be a country star, but she appeals to the pop world, too. She will be touring as an opening act for Harry Styles in the summer of 2018; the singer announced the news via Instagram on Thursday (June 8).

Styles, a former One Direction member, will bring Musgraves on his Live on Tour trek. Warpaint and soul artist Leon Bridges are also acting as guest artists.

For those who don't follow the pop world, Styles was part of One Direction, but in 2016, he ventured away from the band and onto a solo career. Way back in 2014, the 23-year-old admitted to being hooked on Musgraves' music: "It's impossible to listen to @KaceyMusgraves too much. Don't tell anyone," he wrote.

The Live on Tour is absolutely massive, and Musgraves will be part of the U.S. and Canada leg, taking place in June and July 2018. Styles is scheduled to criss-cross around the globe during this tour, hitting Europe, South America and many other areas.

Musgraves is no stranger to playing with famous pop stars. In 2014, she opened for pop queen Katy Perry on the North American leg of her Prismatic World Tour, and they also filmed an episode of CMT Crossroads

With 2018 touring plans on the horizon and a scattering of shows and festivals left this year, one may wonder when the singer is planning to release new material; it's been almost two years since Musgraves released her sophomore album, Pageant Material. She tells The Boot that although she's been writing ("Butterflies" confirms that), she's taking her time moving forward and enjoying space off the road.

“I don’t want to rush myself. I’ve taken time to get off the road, and I’m planning a wedding, so I’m busy with that,” Musgraves says. “I’ve got some songs, and I’m just kind of seeing where they go. I know I want to do something different and just feel inspired again.”
