Rod’s House Raised $25,000 from Fan Fest Northwest to Help Youth in Our Area
Fan Fest Northwest was Yakima's local comic convention that happened on October 11th.
It brought fandoms from Star Wars to Star Trek. From Anime to K-Pop. From video games to table-top games and so much more all together to the Yakima Convention Center to celebrate all fandoms and, best of all, all for a great cause.
This event was put together by Rod's House, a local nonprofit helping teens and young adults who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless get the help they need to point them in the right direction of life.
$25,000!
Fan Fest Northwest raised $25,000. That money stays right here in our community as well.
This couldn't be done without the help of the wonderful sponsors Gesa Credit Union, South Central Workforce, Yakima Valley Community Foundation, Inatai Foundation, Pacific Steel and Recycling Yakima, Yakima Federal Savings and Loan, and Washington State Arts Commission.
When you combine ticket sales and people who bought vendor tables, it comes to a lot of money for the young men and women right here in the Yakima Valley.
Fan Fest Northwest wasn't a one-time event. There are already talks of having it come back next year. Maybe even for two days instead of one day like it was this year.
Keep updated by following Rod's House and Fan Fest Northwest on Facebook to stay up to date.
Next year should be huge and bound to raise even more money for Rod's House.
