Loss Of Country Star Means Revamp Of CWSF Lineup!
The Central Washington State Fair is slated to start Sept. 22 in Yakima and now it looks like they'll be scrambling for a fair replacement due to the untimely death of one their slated entertainment acts.
Troy Gentry, of country music duo Montgomery Gentry, tragically was killed in a helicopter accident Friday in New Jersey -- hence the cancellation of the band's Yakima show. Gentry was just 50 years old.
The loss has left a void in the entertainment line-up at this year's Central Washington State Fair.
The Central Washington State Fair's director of marketing responded with this press release:
TROY GENTRY OF POPULAR COUNTRY DUO, MONTGOMERY GENTRY, TRAGICALLY KILLED IN HELICOPTER CRASH IN MEDFORD, NEW JERSEY TODAY
Nashville, TN, September 8, 2017…It is with great sadness that we confirm that Troy Gentry, half of the popular country duo, Montgomery Gentry, was tragically killed in a helicopter crash which took place at approximately 1:00pm today in Medford, New Jersey. Troy Gentry was 50 years old.
The duo was scheduled to perform Tuesday, Sept 26th at The Central Washington State Fair.
The Fair’s talent agency is working to secure a replacement act for this date. Customer refunds will be honored as an alternative.
