Yakima has no lack of pizza places with plenty of options. Though I'm a sucker for just a classic pepperoni pizza or a Hawaiian-style pizza the older I get the more I'm apt to choose unique options from the menu. I was at a newer pizza place in Yakima when I saw they had a pear and Prosciutto pizza that I knew I had to try.

Where to find a Pear and Prosciutto pizza in Yakima.

My kid and I found ourselves at Flame & Brew Wood Fired Pizza on 3rd and Nob Hill. It's a place that has been in Yakima for just less than a year but I never had the chance to check it out until yesterday.

And now I wonder why I waited so long to visit. This place is great!

Looking at the menu they had a Margherita pizza which is just cheese, basil and fresh tomato sauce. Since my kid is a picky eater we grabbed one of those, too.

They saw they had cheese bread on the menu so, yeah, we ordered that, too. This is all they really at while we ate here. I wasn't mad.

And I love buffalo wings so I figured I'd try some of those as well. They were great!

But, to me, the highlight was the pear and prosciutto pizza. It's hard to put into words on why this pizza is so magnificent. It could be the pears, it could be the prosciutto or any of the other ingredients on this. And the fact that it's wood fired to give it a nice crust and flavor, it made it perfect for me. I just got a smaller one this trip but will have to opt for the larger one next time I'm here.

Next time you're thinking pizza, check out Flame & Brew on 3rd and Nob Hill.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
