Plans For The Weekend? Not With The City of Yakima

What are you plans for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend? Whatever you plans are don't plan on doing any business with the city of Yakima.
Monday is a holiday and that means many of the City of Yakima’s facilities will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

You'll have to find another way to where you're going

Facilities that will be closed include City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation offices. If you ride Yakima Transit you'll have to find another way to get where you're going because Yakima Transit will not provide bus service Monday. The City’s Harman Center will be closed Saturday, May 28th and Monday, May 30th.

You'll have a different garbage pickup day next week

If Monday is your garbage day you'll have to wait until Tuesday. A city news release says there will be no garbage pick-up service on Monday, May 30th. Garbage collection service schedules by the City’s Refuse Division will be delayed by one day next week. Those with service scheduled for Friday, June 3rd, will instead have their garbage picked up on Saturday, June 4th.
Doing some yard work this weekend? The one-day delay next week also applies to yard waste.

You can still rent that picnic shelter for your family bbq Monday

Though City offices will be closed for Memorial Day, registrations for City of Yakima Parks and Recreation programs, as well as picnic shelter reservations, can still be made Monday by visiting https://yakimaparks.com/
In addition, City water, sewer and refuse customers can use a bill payment kiosk outside City Hall’s main entrance on 2nd Street that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
