Wave Goodbye: Russell Wilson Traded to Denver by Seattle Seahawks
Well, 12s, It may be time to wave goodbye.
Pending a thumbs up on his physical condition and with his approval, one of Seattle's greatest Seahawks is headed for the hills.
Russell Willson - Seattle Seahawks Trading Star QB to Denver Broncos
Say it ain't so. Well, we can say that at the moment, it's not official until it's official. Russell Wilson will have to pass a physical exam, which shouldn't be too much trouble for someone who is as committed to physical fitness as Russ is. Then, the star QB will have to give his approval of the deal, since, his contract has a no-trade clause. Frankly, we wouldn't be hearing about this deal if he wasn't already on board with it. So, I think we need to brace ourselves for the inevitable. Russell is leaving.
What do The Seahawks Get in the Trade Deal for Russell Wilson from The Broncos?
According to ESPN.com this morning:
The Broncos have agreed to trade quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick to the Seahawks for Wilson and a fourth-round pick, sources said.
That seems like quite a lot in exchange for Wilson, who was taken by the Hawks in 2012 in the third round of the NFL draft, with the 75th pick. Wilson's career has been an exciting one thus far, turning in an amazing rookie year, followed up with an appearance in Super Bowl 48, defeating (ironically) the Denver Broncos, then led by Peyton Manning.
