School starts for most of the schools in the Yakima Valley this week. It's a great time to remind drivers to be aware of the school zones. They've been empty the past couple of months ... but that's obviously about to change.

Mind the speed limits, watch for kids, respect school bus stop signs.

The Selah Police Department posted a great reminder on Facebook of "when to stop when school bus lights are flashing or stop bar is out." I always see drivers confused about if they are to stop or not on the four-lane roads. Check out Image 2 in the picture. Both lanes traveling in the same direction as the bus are to stop. The other two lanes traveling in the opposite direction are clear to continue driving.
