The NFL rivalry and trash talk that has been going on between the San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks will likely intensify now that the Seahawks have taken the top spot away from San Francisco in the latest ESPN power rankings.

Not that pre season rankings mean much in pro football, they do offer an indication of the upcoming season's expectations.

Now that the Seahawks have moved into the top spot, those expectations are off the charts.

While the 49ers and Seahawks are really seen as 1a and 1b heading into the season, NFL.com’s Elliot Harrison ranked Seattle first due in large part to the torn Achilles suffered by San Francisco’s leading receiver, Michael Crabtree.
