Playoff weekend in the NFL. It's here and the Seattle Seahawks are in the thick of things, as the winner of the NFC West Division. They're hosting the NFC rival Los Angeles Rams on Saturday in the WILD CARD round of the playoffs.

Seattle and LA split the regular-season matchups, with the Rams winning the first meeting and the Seahawks defeating the Rams in Seattle two weeks ago for the Division crown.

It's anyone's guess how the Hawks will do, but I have my prediction coming up. First, let's take a look at how the Seahawks have faired under the direction of Head Coach Pete Carroll. According to Wikipedia:

Under Carroll, the Seahawks have qualified for the playoffs nine times, clinched their division five times, made two Super Bowl appearances, and won the franchise's first title in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Yep. The team has done well since Pete took over. Don't forget, it was only 15 years ago when the Hawks were in Superbowl 40 under the direction of Mike Holmgren.

You can call me a hopeless homer but I feel that the Seahawks are peaking at just the right time and will be a force to reckon with during the playoffs and will wind up representing the NFC in the Superbowl this year. My prediction: Seahawks vs Bills and the Seahawks win.

Now, for this weekend's matchup, obviously, by virtue of the fact that I'm predicting the Hawks get to the Superbowl, I think they'll beat the Rams. Score? 42-13. Hawks.

My Seahawks cred goes back 44 years, so this is not a bandwagon kind of prediction.

Go Hawks!
