Sitting in the stands at CenturyLink Field was a special honor Sunday night.

Not just because I'm a proud and longtime Seattle Seahawks fan -- us Hawks fans suffered a wretched night as we watched ourr team fall short against the NFC West-leading Arizona Cardinals, but we're still 12s all the way.

No, I felt even more pride as I watched the 69,005 fans -- no, let's call them Americans -- honoring the U.S. military and reflecting on last week's tragedy in Paris. We all came together as humans to acknowledge that the terror attacks that killed at least 129 people were an assault on the whole world and could just as easily have been committed at a Seahawks game.

My absolute favorite moment of the evening was when two large choppers came roaring over, flying our flag and the flag of France.

It put the outcome of the game in perspective.
