Sorry Italy but Yakima has the Best Italian Sandwich in the World
Yakima has no lack of great food options. If you're looking for great cuts of steak, authentic Mexican food, great drinks or any of those 'farm-to-fork' options, Yakima has you covered.
I was at a local restaurant when I decided to order something new compared to the thing I typically order. I'm glad I did as it was amazing. This was the Italiano Sandwich from The Kiln.
And, yes, to be fair I don't think they have Italian subs or Italian sandwiches in Italy. They probably just call them sandwiches.
Though begs to ask if other countries called a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich a USA Sandwich? Probably not, but it is something kind of unique to us vs. what other countries eat.
I digress, the Italiano Special is prime rib, swiss, roasted red peppers, onions, and pepperoncini served on house-made focaccia bread, a kind of flat oven-baked bread similar to pizza crust. It makes for great sandwiches so I'm glad they do this.
And it comes with chips, of course. I'm always cool with this as, given the option, I often would rather have potato chips than fries. Not sure why as I can get chips pretty much anywhere but just makes sense to me to have potato chips with a sandwich.
