WSDOT Reminds You of Traffic Due to College Basketball in Spokane This Weekend
If you were planning on a leisurely drive to Spokane this weekend to just hang out for the weekend, there's a pretty big event happening that may put a damper on your plans as far as traffic goes.
Remember that whole NCAA college basketball tournament thing with the college basketball tournament happening? Well, it's happening right now and, on top of that, there are men's division and women's division games happening this weekend in Spokane.
As WSDOT mentioned:
We've got a few very BUSY days ahead with Spokane set to host both the men's & women's first two rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.
This means we'll have more people on our roadways, many from out of town, so please drive safe out there and plan some extra travel time.
Needn't worry, though. Just allow plenty of time and understand that so many are there to enjoy and have fun, too. They're not just there to annoy you. Though I would say that if you were in Spokane this weekend I'd avoid downtown as many visitors may be visiting Spokane for the first time just to attend these games so they should have fun looking around and spending time in the parks and all that, trying the local restaurants.
It's just this weekend. If you can postpone your Spokane trip until next weekend, you should be fine.
and Go Zags!
