WSDOT and GoodToGo Warn WA Drivers of Toll Scam
Well, it's about that time to tell your mom that there's another phone scam going around.
Fortunately for those of us on the eastern side of Washington State we're not so ignorant to it being that we don't have any toll booths or bridges in eastern Washington, but our friends on the west side could fall victim to this simple scam.
And, to be fair, if you're on the east side and happen to get this scam attempt and you were recently visiting the Seattle area, it's something you should be aware of.

People are getting texts that look legit but, of course, are not.
From GoodToGo's website
SCAM ALERT: Good To Go! will not request payments on any websites but MyGoodToGo.com. Do not click unknown links in emails or texts.
There you have it. Straight and simple.
The text may say it's from another source for paying tolls. GoodToGo is the only toll service in Washington State and, if you did drive on a bridge that has a toll, GoodToGo will mail you a bill within about a month for you to square up and pay online through their portal. It's fast and easy. I've used it a few times, myself.
But no toll service will text you. First of all, how would they have even gotten your number? That's a huge red flag right there.
If you happen to get one you may report it and also easy to just block the source and move on. Be VERY careful when it comes to blocking that text, though, as you also don't want to slip and accidentally hit any links in that text. That's where the scam comes from. You click the link and that's the phishing attempted to get access to your personal info.
