Sporting Events Abound In The Yakima Valley This Weekend

The 21st Annual Sunnyside Sunshine Classic Boys' AAU Basketball Tournament will be held April 15-17, 2011, at various Sunnyside gyms. Boy's teams from grades 2-8 will compete. The tournament will commence on Friday evening at 5:30pm. Games begin at 9:00am on Saturday and Sunday.
The 19th Annual Zillah Lion's Club Spring Fling Girls' Basketball Tournament will be held on April 15-17, 2011, at various Zillah gyms. Girl's teams from grades 2-8, will compete. This AAU sanctioned tournament will begin on Friday evening at 5:30pm. Saturday and Sunday games will start at 9:00am.
The 2011 Battle of the Bats Baseball Tournament will be held on April 15-17, at Kiwanis Park and the Gateway Sports Complex. This youth tournament features 9U/10U/11U/12U/13U/14U/15U divisions, with a maximum of eight teams per division.
Central Washington University Women's Softball will host two double-headers with Northwest Nazarene University on April 15-16, 2011, at Frederick Field on the CWU campus in Ellensburg. Game time is 1:00pm on Friday and 12:00pm on Saturday. There is no charge for admission.
The Yakima Amateur Hockey Association will hold its' annual Adult Co-ed Hockey Tournament on April 15-17 at the Yakima Ice Rink, 1700 East Beech Street. The tournament is an eight team 4v4 event. Six out-of-town teams will compete against two local teams.
The Racing Rascals Quarter Midget Association will host the Washington Quarter Midget Association's 1st Region Race on April 16-17, 2011 at Renegade Raceway. This will be a qualifying race for the season championship. Sign-in is at 8:00 am with racing at 9:45 am.
The 2011 NWAACC Spring Crossover Softball Tournament will be held on April 16-17, at the Carlon Park Complex in Selah. Saturday's games will kick-off at 9:00 am and Sunday's will start at 8:00 am.
