Yakima’s Sprint Boat Races Return and This Year, They’re Going to Be Twice as Wild
Why have only one weekend of fun seeing one of the fastest-growing motorsports in the country, when you can have TWO? State Fair Park says they're bringing back Sprint Boat Race Weekends, and they'll be bigger and better in 2026.
I didn't get to make it to last year's fun of the grand opening of sprint boat racing at the Fairgrounds in Yakima, so if you didn't get to go last year, we'll have two opportunities to go this year.

It's Sorta Like NASCAR Races, but with Boats
If you're one of those people saying there's nothing to do here in Yakima, here's a new adventure to take on this summer: two weekends of racing for American Sprint Boat Racing Circuit. One race is in June and the other is in August.
The sprint boat obstacle course zooms all around the dirt lot behind the Yakima Sundome. It was filled with water--just enough to make sprint boats race even faster.
The boats will go around the course at speeds over 80 mph, so watching the races will be a nailbiter, for sure.
Each sprint boat is loaded with a driver and a navigator, and they have only 24-hours to MEMORIZE the obstacle course, and all the racers hope their boat will be the fastest to win all the trophies!
Family Fun and Sprint Boat Racing Weekend Deals
State Fair Park's CEO, Kathy Kramer, says that this year they are expecting "visitors from across the country [will come] to enjoy the races and experience all the Valley has to offer" at this event. She also says they are "adding more family-friendly amenities."
The races are on Saturday and Sunday, June 13th and 14th, and on August 15th & 16th, also on Saturday and Sunday.
"American Sprint Boat Racing Circuit will be back in Yakima...featuring some of the fastest racing teams from across the country, with several teams coming from as far as Australia and New Zealand."

Kramer says this year, we can expect more family fun including Family 4-Packs and the return of RV camping lot rentals on the premises. The Family 4-Packs will include entries to any one race day and you can buy them either online at StateFairPark.org or at the ticket office at 1301 S Fair Ave in Yakima.
