Tonight at the Yakima Valley Museum, Steve Mitchell, the CEO of OIC Washington*, will host a presentation and discussion on Structural Racism.

Mitchell has partnered with the YWCA of Yakima to speak about the issue of structural racism, what it is and how it impacts the Yakima community and beyond. The panel discussion is backed with the support of YWCA Yakima's Social Justice Committee (of which I am a member) includes community leaders in various sectors such as education, media, medical, judicial law, and YWCA board members and staff.

*The OIC of Washington is a non-profit organization "that provides community services through federal, state and local funding sources", according to its website.

The YWCA of Yakima's mission statement is "Eliminating racism, empowering women".
