It's day 15 since a 66-year-old Wendy Baker of Yakima was killed while riding her bicycle along Summitview Avenue June 12. Detectives with the Yakima County Sheriff's Office last week say they were able to identify a suspect driver who fled the scene of the crash but so far no arrest has been made. Baker died after being struck by a GMC Denali pickup as she was riding a bike in the 11000 block of Summitview Avenue.

A witness was able to grab a license plate of the suspect vehicle

The driver fled the scene of the crash. A witness was able to grab a license plate and that helped authorities locate the truck at a construction site in East Valley days after the crash.
KIT News has learned the suspect driver took the truck to a local body shop immediately after the crash but left after the shop told him it could take longer than expected to fix the damage.

Prosecutors know electronic evidence will play a key role in a trial

Last week authorities say they were able to secure more electronic evidence from the suspect's truck which continues to be held as evidence in the case.
The driver's name has not been released and no arrest has been made.
Authorities say they're now gathering electronic evidence that could place the driver in the vehicle at the time of the crash even if the driver denies any involvement in the incident.
If you were a witness of the crash or have information that could help in the investigation contact the Yakima County Sheriff's Office at 509-574-2500 or Yakima County Crime Stoppers at 800-248-9980.
