‘The Spice’ Indian Cuisine Is Now Open in Yakima… kinda
There's a new place in Yakima that many have been anxiously waiting to open and, after several months, it's finally here! Well, mostly.
The Spice said, though they're not quite ready for in-house dining, they are ready to take your orders for pick-up or delivery.
Find them next to the old 7-Eleven off 16th and Summitview. In the old Taco John's building if you've been around that long.
Several options including Door Dash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub or direct through their website.
They're still working out a couple of kinks but I was able to place an order via Door Dash. If you don't have the Door Dash app, no worries, you can order via Door Dash through a computer which is what I did. And, in lieu of delivery, I was able to pick it up since they're just down the road a little bit from us at the radio stations.
I kept it simple for now and just got the standard -- the butter chicken. There's something special, yet simplist, about chicken in a buttery tomato based curry with all the spices that make Indian cuisine such an experience.
Although I like mine spicy, this didn't have the kick I was expecting so if you're looking for a zing but not 'burn your mouth' spicy, this is perfect for you. Next time I'll have to get mine with a little more spice but the flavor was spot on.
It came with rice which is perfect for absorbing the leftover curry sauce and I also got some garlic naan to go with it as you can't have curry without naan.
I love what I ordered and looking forward to trying more. But, in the meantime, though you can't eat there just yet (that will come very soon) you are able to place your order to go or for delivery.
When I picked up my order I jokingly said, "See you tomorrow!" The guy behind the counter responded, "...or maybe even later today." haha, nice.
