The Warmest Day of the Year (so far) is Happening This Weekend
We've had some crazy weather these past few weeks. It'd be cold enough to have the heat on at home, then, the very next day, we're turning on the AC as it's too warm. It's that weird transition period where you don't quite want to put away your winter clothes as, as history as proved itself in the Yakima valley, it may be sunshine for a few days, then we get snow dumped on us enough to have school delays and people frantically looking for ice melt. I'm not sure if Yakima will get more snow later this month or even March but I am looking forward to this weekend as, looking ahead, we're slated to have the warmest day of the year so far.
According to the Weather Channel, Sunday is looking for a high near 55, maybe 56 if we're lucky.
It's under mostly cloudy skies so, yeah, we'll have a bit of sun when we can see it.
It will start cooling off immediately after that dropping down to nearly 34 degrees that Thursday after this Sunday. They're not predicting snow or anything so it'll just be a bitter chill. Nothing we're not used to.
That's a pretty drastic drop, though! The temperature will rise back up a bit after that.
The problem with having such nice temperatures this weekend is you may feel up for a road trip. However, Seattle is probably out of the question as it has been getting snow and closures on I-90 so probably not the best time to leave town. We can make the most of it right here in our own backyard.
