The Yakima Humane Society is still in full swing, even though the doors remain closed to the public. Foster families do incredible work taking in kittens and puppies, recovering rescues and older cats and dogs.

Finding their forever homes is a blessing for not only the family receiving but a tip of the hat to the Yakima Humane Society for the incredible work they provide to our Valley. It's tough in these winter months, pets need to be cared for and during this pandemic it's been rough for everyone.

The Yakima Humane Society is incredibly grateful to the volunteers, staff and the donating community, so much so that they've been asked to provide a list of the most popular items they run through the most.

If you are able to give, even in the smallest amount, it goes such a long way.

  • Liquid Laundry Soap
  • Bleach
  • Dog Toys
  • Cat Toys
  • Purina Puppy Chow
  • Fleece Throws
  • Small Bites Purina Dog Food
  • Office Supplies
  • Disinfecting Wipes
  • Pill Pockets

Currently you can assist the Yakima Humane Society by also purchasing some fun pasta at their website. We all have to eat so wouldn't those bites taste better knowing they've been purchased for a great cause?

My husband and I adopted our Garybear from the Yakima Humane Society and we now own a rescue kitty as well named Winnie. Life is not only better for them these days but us as well. The love you receive from a rescue animal is pretty incredible but if permanent ownership isn't your jam maybe you could become a foster? Careful though, sometimes they are SO cute you'll want to keep them.
