When we think of our favorite players making it to the Mariners Hall of Fame many names come to mind. Especially those who spent a good amount of time with the team helping us get closer and closer to play offs.

However this Mariner may not play with the team any more, he's still a vital part of the team. For years he played right field and was a clutch hitter every time he was up at bat.

None other than Ichiro Suzuki is being decided a unanimous decision to join the Mariners Hall of Fame.

Ichiro joined the Seattle Mariners in 2001 batting left handed with his own signature stance and playing right field. Ichiro has a cannon for an arm and made countless saves from the outfield making throws no one thought possible. He played with the mariners up to 2012 when he was traded to the New York Yankees.

However that wasn't the last of Ichiro and the Seattle Mariners, Ichiro would return in 2018 and retire in the second game of 2019. Not only did he want to retire with the Seattle Mariners but he would also receive a new position with the team.

Ichiro took on the job of special assistant to the chairman, along with the duties of being an instructor for the Tacoma Rainers. He serves as an out fielding, and base runner coach. He also gives a helping hand to batting coaches for both the Seattle Mariners and Tacoma Rainers.
