How do you parents do it? You know, the ones who miraculously keep your kids on a strict schedule for "screen time"?

I have tried to establish the rule that my child can spend no longer than 3 total hours a day playing games or watching YouTube videos on her WiFi-only phone, but enforcing it is tougher than I thought it would be.

I have even tried the "you must do all your chores before screen time" rule, but she finishes all her chores pretty quickly now and then hops back on the phone.

One parent in a Facebook parenting group I'm in says she makes her child turn in their phone every night by 9 p.m. This prevents their child from sneaking off to play after bedtime. (That's a great idea because I have caught my kid on the phone after bedtime. I will have to try that.)

What techniques/rules have worked for you?
