We found ourselves at Red Robin the other day. Red Robin has been a wonderful place to have in Yakima for as long as I can remember.

Although I do miss the nostalgia of the old location that faintly still smelled like stale cigarettes and musky wood paneling (ahh, the '80s)

Red Robin hosts 'high school takeovers' every so often where proceeds of your visit goes towards IKE students and that was the situation the other night so my kids and I decided to support and not have to worry about doing the cooking or the cleaning. We can always find something we like at Red Robin.

Looking over the menu I saw they had Tsunami Shrimp as an appetizer. It's something my sister mentioned recently but I don't remember seeing it on the menu. It must have been new but down to try it.

I'm so much of a 'order an appetizer as my meal' type of guy so I grabbed that while my kids got whatever they got.

I'm here to tell you, get the tsunami shrimp.

It's set to be shared as an appetizer but I just had it for myself, though I did share with one of my kids who likes shrimp. It was a little spicy for them but it was the perfect heat for me.

If you're looking for that perfect mix of flavor and zing, maybe swing by Red Robin and order the Tsunami Shrimp. I'll be back soon to grab it again.

And I love the fact that it comes with chips! I'm not much for french fries (believe it or not) but when they have house-made potato chips, I opt for those when I can.
