WA Town Made ‘100 Best Small Towns’ List and for All the Right Reasons
It's always fun to see those lists from other websites that feature cities from all over the United States and you scroll through them to see if yours made the list. Well, in a recent article from Far and Wide, they listed the 100 best small towns with less than 10,000 residents and one of Washington's town made the list. If any small town in Washington was to make the list, it would definitely be this one.
Leavenworth Washington only has a population of 1,995 according to the website, 2,263 as of a couple of years ago, but you probably wouldn't know that if you visited in the summer or especially in October or December months.
This place has become quite the touristy area, but it wasn't always that way. This humble town was a typical type of small town but they decided to make it based on a Bavarian village for the sake of tourism and oh boy did it ever work.
This is not the type of place you'll see off the side of the highway. You want to have to want to go here as it is off the beaten path as far as roads go, but it's worth the drive. One of the best Octoberfest's you'll ever experience and when the light up the town during the Christmas seasons, it's like you're walking around in your Grandma's Christmas display. It's pretty amazing.
So many tourists and such a fun place to check out but with so few people actually living here, it sounds like it'd be paradise for many.
