Surprise! It's not Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.

I mean, it may be mine, but only four states find that the best on average so it doesn't even crack the top 5 overall.

I don't think it's disappointing, that just means more for me.

But what is the #1 favorite Halloween candy for Washington State and maybe the top 5 over-all with the rest of the United States?

And how is our #1 about to get fancy? Let's find out.

What is the most popular Halloween candy for Washington State?

According to HolidayCalendar.io, Washington peeps prefer M&M's. And no reason why not. It's a solid choice.

M&M's also came in first place over-all with the rest of the U.S. as well.
Second belongs to Skittles. Not bad.
Third place goes to Starburst? Really?! Well, okay. I mean, they're not bad, but still.
Fourth is Kit Kat. A classic favorite
Fifth is candy corn.
Naw, just kidding, it's Sour Patch Kids.

See all the states at Holiday Calendar's website.

What is making M&M's fancy is they're teaming up with kate spade in NYC for M&M’S x kate spade new york Capsule Collection.

This includes M&M's jewelry, purses, and more. You can see more on M&M's website.

I mean, if you wanted to buy one of these kate spade M&M's bags and fill it full of your favorite variety of M&M's, that would be the best possible thing you could do, I'd think.

I don't have a clue when it comes to fashion, but I think it's neat that they'd do something like this.

LOOK: How Halloween has changed in the past 100 years

Stacker compiled a list of ways that Halloween has changed over the last 100 years, from how we celebrate it on the day to the costumes we wear trick-or-treating. We’ve included events, inventions, and trends that changed the ways that Halloween was celebrated over time. Many of these traditions were phased out over time. But just like fake blood in a carpet, every bit of Halloween’s history left an impression we can see traces of today.
