5 Things to Do This Weekend in Yakima (And Beyond)
Don't sit at home all weekend being bored! There are some fun things in store for everyone this weekend in the Yakima Valley and beyond!
First, let's get to the "beyond" part: White Pass Ski Lodge is hosting their annual Winter Carnival this weekend!
Winter Carnival is where amazing and gifted artists sculpt a "massive snow castle." They also host a Kids Obstacle Course Race, night skiing, and snow tubing. The 2-day event begins this Saturday and ends Sunday afternoon (March 1st and 2nd). Visit anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Dance the night away and celebrate Mardi Gras with the Carnival of Lights Mardi Gras 2025 fundraiser event at Christ the Teacher Catholic School (5508 W. Chestnut Ave.) starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st. This is a 21+ event only.

Looking for live music with a heavy metal beat? Head to the Diseased Humans Tour hosted at The Chainsaw Cat (509 W. Yakima Ave.) on Saturday, March 1st, beginning at 8 p.m. This event is family-friendly. Featured bands include Darkwatch, Gouged, and Destroyed and Depraved.
If socializing whilst learning how to do improv is more up your alley, check out the Adult Improv Drop-In Class hosted by the Yakima Improv Society on Sunday, March 2nd. It's a one-hour class upstairs inside the theater at Glenwood Square (5110 Tieton Dr). The 18+ class is free to attend and promises that you'll "learn improv warm-up and short form games."
Finally, we have the Yakima Home and Garden Showcase. This is a 3-day event happening at the SOZO Sports Complex (2210 S 38th Ave). Event times are Friday, February 28th, from 12 to 5 p.m., Saturday, March 1st, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday March 2nd, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
