What to Expect when Texas Roadhouse Finally Opens in Yakima
Texas Roadhouse is set to open in Yakima later this year. You see the building and even the light-up sign on the freeway around Yakima so you know it's coming soon.
I used to live in a town that had a Texas Roadhouse and though you can't just throw your peanut shells on the floor anymore (to me, that was a huge draw) it's still a fun place with great food and a fun atmosphere.
If you've never been, here's a few things you can expect when you first visit.
When you walk in, you have that country decor. That makes sense.
When you approach the person checking you in, making sure your entire party is there before you can be seated, they do have a seating area but also have a case full of steak that you can see the different raw cuts of beef. It's nice to see. Kinda gets your ready for what's about to happen. I like it because, admittedly, I'm not sure what many cuts of beef are just by name alone, I need to see them.
When they show you to your seat, you're immediately seated with their signature rolls with cinnamon butter. These are amazing and won't last long. The good news if you can get more if needed. But try not to fill up on them as they don't skim on portions of your meals, either.
The menu has plenty of options to choose from. Not just steak but chicken, burgers, salads, seafood, and other options.
They have plenty of appetizers to choose from. I prefer the rattlesnake bites which are fried cheese balls with jalapenos cut into them for heat. I think they're great. Imagine a cross between fried cheese curds and jalapeno popper. A bit like that.
With so many lunch and dinner options it's hard to choose. The last time I was there I didn't even get steak. I got the country fried chicken with that country gravy on top of everything.
They also have a fun dish called Road Kill which is a chop steak smothered with other ingredients.
And if you're there for steak, there are plenty of options to choose from.
Look for Texas Roadhouse to open in Yakima very soon at the east end of Valley Mall Bvld. I can't wait!
In the meantime, Texas Roadhouse is also hiring for the Yakima location. If you're interested, of course.
