Yakima’s Biggest Yard Sale 2018: Here’s What You Need to Know
Around here, you know it's spring when the yard sale signs start to bloom. And next Saturday (May 12), the season will be in full blossom when Yakima's Biggest Yard Sale gets underway in Perry Technical Institute's parking lot.
With 90 booths lined up this year, the varieties are endless.
Gates open at 8 a.m. at Perry Tech, 2011 W. Washington Ave. (across from the Yakima airport), for the annual event that's presented by Townsquare Media and Yakima's Salvation Army Thrift Store and benefits Northwest Harvest's local food warehouse. Admission is $3 -- or $2 if you bring a can of food to donate.
And speaking of food, there'll be plenty of firsthand fuel for secondhand bargain-hunters: Troy Henry's cooking up hamburgers and hot dogs, Groovin' Grounds is brewing coffee and other beverages, and Bad Donkey Kettle Corn and Winegar's Ice Cream will have some sweet treats.
Yakima's Biggest Yard Sale draws thousands of shoppers each year, and all indications are that this will be the biggest year yet. So get there early for the best selection.
The sale's over at 2 p.m.
