While the power of the Vocal Duo of the Year category has waned in recent years, the Vocal Group of the Year pool at the 2012 CMA Awards is overflowing with talent. How tight is this category? It's been a long and understandably difficult week for Eli Young Band bassist Jon Jones, whose father died last week. Allen Edwin Jones passed away in Ft. Worth, Texas last Monday, Oct. 8, after losing a long battle with lung cancer.

Eli Young Band have officially begun shooting the music video for 'Say Goodnight,' the third single from the band's 'Life at Best' album -- and as drummer Chris Thompson reveals, the result will be unlike anything ever before seen on country music video channels.

Soon, the Eli Young Band's tour bus will need an extra bunk -- be it a tiny one. Bassist Jon Jones announced that his wife Sarah is expecting the couple's first child, a baby boy, due on Dec. 23. That makes two babies in 2012 for the ACM Award-winning group, as singer Mike Eli welcomed his first baby in July.
