The first day of Watershed is in the books and there is plenty to talk about, including a very moving tribute from Thomas Rhett to Sofia Milstead, the Lynden teen who died in a crash on Interstate 90 on her way to the concert. Sofia had posted just days earlier how excited she was to see Rhett perform.

As Rhett took the Watershed stage in a yellow shedder shirt Friday night, he seemed ready to fire up the crowd for Florida Georgia Line's later set. But at one point, he stopped the music to talk.

"I received an email," Rhett told the crowd, "from the family of Sofia -- she's the young girl who died on her way to see me. Her family asked if I would dedicate a song to her tonight. If any of her family and friends are here tonight, my heart goes out to you. This song is for her and it's called "Beer with Jesus."

The 20,000 in attendance roared with approval before giving Rhett their undivided attention. Fellow attendee Michelle Libbey said she cried during the tribute, because all she could think about was the girls' parents.

Watershed founder and president of Live Nation Country Brian O'Connell tweeted this message late last night:

"I was on the campgrounds tonight, and I watched all or most of the performances tonight. What I can tell you all is that we #misssofia. Get it trending #shedders. -BOC"

The recent Lynden High School graduate was traveling to the festival Thursday when she veered off the road and overcorrected. Her car rolled on I-90 near Ellensburg, killing her and injuring her three passengers.

A candlelight vigil for Milstead is planned for Tuesday night at Lynden High School.
