Earlier this week we caught a fresh look at a new 'True Blood' season 6 trailer that showed off some impressive new abilities for Bill Compton, having been resurrected from the blood of vampire god(dess) Lilith. That new role in the world will undoubtedly put him at odds with Sookie Stackhouse, but will she have another new man to put her attention on? Get the latest spoilers on 'True Blood' season 6 inside!

We're just weeks away from the June 16 premiere of 'True Blood's' sixth season, in which war between vampires and humans reaches a boiling point, and a newly empowered Bill becomes a lightning rod of trouble for Bon Temps. Rather than paint Bill as a god, however, showrunner Brian Buckner previewed to TVGuide that Bill's new form would prove a little more down to Earth than viewers have seen thus far.

We prefer prophet [over "god"]. Bill's more than just vampire and has powers we've never seen a vampire have. Bill and Sookie are not going to get on so hot. But their not getting on is kind of awesome.

Buckner also previewed that Sookie would have the mysterious "Warlow" to contend with, the oldest vampire seen on the show, but it remains uncertain if Rutger Hauer's mysterious "Macklyn" and Warlow will turn out to be one and the same. Perhaps Sookie's new love interest can help her cope, as Buckner teased "she's looking to date somebody with whom she has more in common."

‘True Blood’ season 6 features the showrunner change from Mark Hudis to Bryan Buckner, season 5 guest star and former ‘Last Resort’ star Robert Patrick has been upgraded to series regular, while season 6 also features the return of Anna Camp‘s Sarah Newlin, Luke Grimes as the “Jim Morrison of vampires,” ‘Rubicon’ star Arliss Howard as the sinister Governor Truman Burrell, ‘House‘s’ Karolina Wydra, Rutger Hauer as mysterious vampire Macklyn, and ‘Eastenders’ star Robert Kazinsky as a series regular and new Fae love interest to Sookie.

Premiering June 16, True Blood’ season 6 will take place over 10 episodes, down from the usual 12, largely to accommodate series star Anna Paquin’s pregnancy with co-star Stephen Moyer.
