8 Things We Love Most About the Central WA State Fair
What are you looking forward to the most about the Central WA State Fair? It's almost here!
WHEN IS THE CENTRAL WASHINGTON FAIR?
The Central Washington State Fair is Friday, September 23rd thru Sunday, October 2nd, 2022, at State Fair Park (1301 S Fair Ave, Yakima). We asked a few of our favorite locals what they love most about the Central Washington State Fair. We are sure one of their answers will match yours!
Many of the questions people have about the Central Washington fair include hours of operation, schedule of events, what food vendors will be there this year, how much are the unlimited carnival ride wristbands, and how much is the parking going to be. We will have all of the details for you very soon!
2022 CENTRAL WASHINGTON FAIR'S THEME
The theme of the 2022 Central Washington State Fair is "Growing Together." We are all growing together as we come out of the COVID-19 pandemic whirlwind that slowed down life in the world. Families are once again ready to venture out to the Fair and have fun going on rides, taking pics for those fair photo buttons, and chomping down on tasty fair foods that we seldom get to eat throughout the year.
What Do We Love Most About the Central Washington State Fair?
1.
Rides
The Slingshot is one of the most popular rides amongst tweens and teens and the little ones will have the most fun on the merry-go-round and kiddie plane rides and roller coasters.
2.
Food
It's the food that we love most about the fair including those curly fries, corn dogs, cotton candy, lamb burgers, and elephant ears!
3.
Animals in the Barn
I love seeing the goats the most at the fair. Feeding the pigs, cows, and chickens is very popular with the fair crowd as well. Don't forget to wander through the barns to see the show horses, bulls, rabbits, and hens!
4.
Concerts
5.
Childhood Nostalgia
6.
Rodeo (PBR)
This year is something new: The PBR Bullriding competition will bring in a bunch of cowboys and cowgals watching all the rodeo action go down at the Central Washington Fair.
7.
Fun with Family & Friends
You can't beat those memories made at the fair. I grew up in Tennessee and I remember my father taking my little brother and me on all the rides. Bless his heart, I get it now: waiting around for the kids to get on and off the carnival rides can be fun but can also be very tiring (and very expensive)!
8.
The Vendors
Maybe it's my age talking, but I actually like perusing around the inside of the Sundome to check out all of the vendors, cooking demonstrations, and getting free swag at the booths. I love walking through the agricultural, art, and photo displays, too!
