A Day to Honor Their Service and Sacrifice

We mark Memorial Day -- the day we set aside to remember those who have died while serving in the armed forces -- this coming Monday. It's a special day to honor the memories of those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for the country they loved.

We especially want to remember anyone from the Yakima Valley.

Among others, I'm thinking of Dustin Sides, my classmate at Eisenhower High School. Marine Lance Cpl. Sides stepped up to serve his country and was killed in action during the Iraq War.
