Alaska Airlines just announced it is expanding its service to include nonstop travel from Seattle London-Heathrow (the major airport in the UK and in London, specifically) as well as service from Seattle to Reykjavik, Iceland.

Alaska Airlines announced the merger with Hawaiian Airlines last year which expanded many of their flights.

Previously Alaska Airlines only flew direct to about 27 cities. With the merge, that increased with Alaska and the ability to fly to places like Japan and South Korea.

But still, missing from the list of big cities they could fly to, was a nonstop flight to London.

If you wanted to fly to London from, let's say Yakima, you'd fly with Alaska to Seattle, then transfer to their partner airlines, American Airlines, to finish the trip.

They did have an option to drive to Tri-Cities and fly with Delta airlines from Pasco to Seattle to London, but so many travelers from Yakima fly with Alaska for those precious Alaska miles. Not discrediting Delta as they're a great company, it's just that Yakima uses Alaska.

With the recent announcement from Alaska Airlines, starting in spring of 2026 you can fly with Alaska Airlines direct from Seattle to London without having to change airlines.

That means you can book your flight from Yakima to Seattle and onto LHR for all the tea and crumpets you can manage.

Alaska is also providing direct flights to Reykjavik, Iceland. Reykjavik is a popular airport that, many times, is a transfer stop for some flight to travel as far as there, then switch plans to get to areas more accessible to other parts of Europe.

No exact date on when this will kick in, it's just listed as spring of 2026 but I'll keep an eye out for dates.

The Labyrinth to Coyote Wall Loop. It runs 6.7 miles with an elevation gain of 1,489 feet. It features a waterfall, lava tube, rock formations, and incredible views. It’s heavily trafficked with hikers and mountain bikers on weekends and dogs are welcome on a leash. Beware, you’ll need good hiking shoes as a good portion of the trail is very rocky. It’s open all year round, but the experts recommend day use from March to November.
