The spoilers were right:  Last night, BEN FLAJNIK proposed to COURTNEY ROBERTSON on the finale of "The Bachelor".  That means LINDZI COX goes home empty-handed . . . to sit around waiting for a call from "The Bachelorette".

Ben told Courtney, quote, "I want you to know, that I think you're an incredible woman.  But I promised myself that I wouldn't get down on one knee again unless I was certain it was forever and I want to tell you that . . . you are my forever."

Courtney accepted the proposal . . . and said, quote, "I will love you forever."  Ben responded, quote, "I will love you forever."

Of course, on "The Bachelor" forever isn't really FOREVER.  And in this case, "forever" was less than three months.  The finale taped in November, and by Valentine's Day, they were done.

On the "After the Final Rose" special, Courtney said, quote, "It's all really disappointing.  Heartbreaking, really.  This is supposed to be a story about love, finding love, and it spoiled . . .

"[On Valentine's Day, Ben] didn't send flowers, a card, nothing.  He didn't even send carnations! . . . I was heartbroken.  I was so disappointed."

The weekend after Valentine's Day is when Ben was supposedly caught hooking up with three different women within 24 hours.

Ben acknowledged that it's been a "rough ride" . . . but said he was, quote, "still in love with this woman."  (--Meaning Courtney.)

As for the "cheating" scandal, Ben denied everything . . . saying, quote, "On my father's grave, I haven't kissed another woman, hooked up with another woman, [or] cheated on Courtney.

"[It's] tabloid fodder . . . [I'm] not kissing anybody."  (--Judging by the pictures, I'd say he's FLAT-OUT LYING.)

He says he needed some space for a few weeks to, quote, "reassess" . . . but now, he's ready to resume his engagement.  Yes, ladies and gentlemen:  It's back ON!!!

Courtney said, quote, "There's definitely some trust that's been lost . . . [but] yes, we're together.  I think.  I don't know.  I'm not ready to turn my back on him."

And Ben said, quote, "We're in a good place . . . it can only get better."
