I love to visit the great restaurants we have around the Yakima Valley when I can. I can't do it all the time (trust me, I wish I could) but still love to see the best the valley has to offer.

Cowiche Canyon Kitchen is a popular spot downtown Yakima. Whether it's a quick meet-up or going out as a family before watching a fun show at Capitol Theatre or even a 'just 'cuz', Cowiche Canyon Kitchen is one of the best here in the valley.

Looking at the menu, no matter what the specials are, no matter what the signature dish is, no matter what any place is known for, I love looking at the appetizers. And, well, let's be honest, you can never go wrong with bread.

Unless you have celiac disease or something, but that's beside the point.

We saw that they had a bread option on the appetizer menu.

Before we get into the bread at Cowiche Canyon Kitchen, a quick story: We were in Spokane the weekend before this trip and we were at a restaurant we enjoyed that also had a bread option. We ordered that but realized there wasn't really enough bread for the 4 of us. It's not the end of the world, but was expecting more.

So, we see this bread option on the menu for a great price (cheaper than the Spokane restaurant we went to) so, just in case, we order 3 orders of it. They were, like, "3 orders of bread? Just making sure." I affirmed and we received our orders of bread in a very quick manor.

It was nice as they were toasted and had a few dipping sauces.

Here's the thing, I thought this order of bread as you see were all three orders on one plate, and I was okay with that. What I didn't realize is they do it big at Cowiche Canyon Kitchen and, no, this was just the first order.

In a few minutes, they brought out two more plates exactly like this.

Needless to say, we needed a to-go box just for the bread.

We laughed off our happy mistake and made for a great snack later that evening.
