Can a Female Buddy Line Up With the Groom? What About a Guy at the Bride’s Side?

A brand-new year with a wedding -- 2015 will be the year that I get married to my best friend. She's a short, feisty, strong-willed woman (who loves to shop) and will make an incredible wife. At this point, choosing wedding invitations has been the most difficult thing I've had to do.

Until this question came up: Should Michele be on my side for the ceremony or on the side of my bride, Kristina?

Michele was there the night we met and has been a part of our entire relationship. We've partied at concerts together, celebrated birthdays and spent more time together than most family members. Kristina and I are both really good friends with Michele. She and I have worked together for a few years now in very close quarters and in some respects she's like one of the guys. So without causing an argument with my future bride, we had to ask the question: Can Michele be on my side of the wedding party? Can she be an attendant on the groom's side? Or vice-versa -- could a guy be in the bridal party?

I tell ya what, these conundrums sure do come early.
